When stalking becomes buying: part three in the riveting series!
The word “handmade” typically conjures images of fabric, beads, and scalloped paper. What led to my almost pathological Etsy addiction is the way the Etsy community has blown traditional notions of handmade completely out of the water. So many of the shops on Etsy don’t fit in the category of either art or craft, but are far more functional. Case in point: the shop that has changed my face, Pink Quartz Minerals.
I know, I know. “Makeup on Etsy,” you ask? Of course. Pink Quartz hand-mixes mineral makeup in about as many shades as there are colors in the universe, making it possible to find the perfect match for your skin stone. I’m a natural look kind of woman girl, but despite appearances to the contrary, I am not perfect. Blemishes. Uneven skin tone. All that jazz. And drugstore makeup? Totally makes my skin worse. So I had resigned myself to the fact that I had to live with unhappy skin. No more, though, Stalkers. No more.
This has been my first experience with mineral makeup, and I love that I actually do feel as if I barely have anything on my face at all. The shop owner offers a plethora of sample packs so you can experiment with the product and find your perfect shades before making a larger purchase. I think I ordered six or seven sample shades and among them was the perfect match for my skin tone. Another of my purchases was a sample pack of eyeshadow shades that are meant to compliment my actual eye color (yes, makeup ignoramus that I am, I had no idea what colors would look good on these eyes, so I simply never bothered before).
And, seriously. It’s HANDMADE. From ETSY.
That’s a picture of me in my new makeup–I know you’ve been dying to know what Curator Beatrice looks like. Don’t I have the sexiest eyes? (If you believe that’s really me, I’ve got a bridge in Violet’s backyard I’d love to sell you . . .)
For my next purchase, I’m dying to try one of the clothing shops on Etsy, but I simply can’t decide which one to go with. Suggestions, please? I need some pretty new duds for my pretty new face.
Until next time, I remain yours Stalkingly (Violet, we’re running out of stalking puns),
Curator Beatrice

Very cool!
Oh, it’s one of the best choices you can make. I got it a while back and it’s fantastic. The fact that it IS it’s own concealer as well as foundation is awesome >3
Great post! I love to read “testimonials” like this before I buy beauty products.
I use lighthouseminerals.etsy.com’s makeup.
But no matter what seller you choose, handmade mineral makeup is amazing stuff.
Fabulous!
