2010 Calendars on Etsy

by Curator Beatrice on December 15, 2009

If you are anything like me and find it virtually impossible to keep your days straight (and your keys in your bag and your children within earshot and your head, let’s face it, firmly planted on your shoulders), then a good calendar is an absolute must. I’ll admit that calendar shopping is one of my favorite yearly pleasures. Because I need one. And shopping for something you need is so freeing, so free of the guilt that so often encumbers most of my other Etsy purchases. So here, in no particular order, are some of my favorites for 2010.

2010 Calendars on Etsy

Out of the Box makes a fabric covered pocket calendar that is a steal for it’s $10 price tag. Lovely on the outside . . .

. . . and functional on the inside:

My frenetic life requires multiple calendars, of course. Along with the one in my pocket/bag, I need one for the desktop. How lovely would this one by Donna Geissler be? She’s put together twelve of her paintings as calendar pages and packages them along with an easel for desktop display.

Perhaps this wall calendar by Natasha Blue suits your style better? She calls it her “Art of the Dead” calendar. Each month features–you guessed it–a painting that’s a bit on the dark side.

Another strong contender in the wall calendar category is EnRogue‘s “Bird Couples” calendar. Each month features a painting of bird in perfect little pairings, some with babies in tow. Beautiful.

I’m a sucker for a really big calendar, holding firmly to the belief that the bigger it is, the less like I am to miss an event. But I want The Sketched Book‘s 2010 poster calendar as much for the art as for the dates represented. As the artist explains, “You can see the whole year AND have enough room to write in those important dates. Each month makes up part of the town. Either as a building or the sky above.”

I love the way The Fancy Lamb has upcycled a vintage Readers Digest to create this 2010 calendar/planner. The inside features a custom designed week by week calendar with ample room for notes (which means no more excuses for missed appointments).

Still worried you’re going to miss your daughter’s piano recital or your next dental exam? Have no fear. For one last reminder of what day it actually is, hang one of one canoe two‘s cloth tea towel calendars in your kitchen. Every time you dry your hands, you’ll be reminded what day of the month it is. (Only problem: this is far too pretty to actually dry your hands on!)

Enjoy these last few weeks of 2009, my dear Stalkers. The new year awaits!

Until next time,

Curator B.

As a perpetual list-maker, thanks for the gorgeous calender options available through Etsy.
Particularly like Natasha Blue’s “Art of the Dead” calendar – decidedly macabre!
Cheers,
Tasha
