When online stalking is a good thing!

Etsy Luxury (or: Beatrice Can Dream, Right?)

by Curator Beatrice on December 8, 2009

I’ve been slowly collecting luxury items in my Etsy favorites, items I know I could never afford in my current financial state but I will most certainly snatch up the minute I win the lottery.

Or beg Curator Violet to buy for me the minute she wins the lottery.

Either way, one thing is certain: this curator is nothing if not a dreamer!

You can only fully appreciate this custom made dragon skin by Ingermaaike by hearing the lengths its maker goes to for her art:

I had to traipse up difficult mountain paths, through deep gorges and cross numerous wild rivers to find this…the moulted skin of a very rare northern mountain dragon. It moults every 500 years and I am so lucky to have special contacts here and there. So there we go, a little bit of magic..

At $300, I honestly consider this a bargain. Breathtaking:

Mr. Curator and I The Curator children would spend hours aboard Mangopork‘s life-sized wooden space ship. With an interior as large as a full sized car, imagine the play possibilities! This amazing creation is yours for $9,997.00.

The interior:

Since I’m on the topic of  things my husband children would go nuts over, I would be remiss not to introduce you to “Homage,” a 17 inch tall toy by Reaver that transforms from a humanoid into a jet. Now half priced for the holidays at $1,000.

If Mr. Curator gets his toy, though, I should get mine. I’m feeling like it’s time to renew our vows, primarily so he’ll have to buy me this art deco diamond ring. By Brillianti, this sells for $9850.00.

Think of the stalking I could do with my Macbook on Ruppel Design’s “Surrender Desk.” This would be simply perfect for my cramped little bedroom. Price: $2,675.00.

And, Stalkers, I know exactly what I’ll hang above that perfect desk. At $8,200.00, Helen Gotlib‘s original pen ink and gouache drawing titled “Winter III” would be nothing short of an inspiration.

I think I need a wealthy patron, or at least someone to hide my credit cards. Any takers?

Until next time,

Curator B.
