When online stalking is a good thing!

Holiday Cards: Send Some Etsy Love

by Curator Beatrice on December 1, 2009

Well, Stalkers, it has happened. The holidays are officially upon us. Wasn’t it just yesterday we were putting together posts for Spring flowers? Did we not just finish taking down the trappings of our Halloween-themed exhibits? That’s what the holiday season does, though: it sneaks up on you. You might say it is the best Stalker there is.

In an effort to minimize some of the holiday stress for our dear readers, I took it upon myself to Stalk holiday cards. Why anybody would buy  cards elsewhere is beyond me; Etsy is a virtual treasure trove for the greetings of the season.

Holiday Cards: Send Some Etsy Love

The holidays certainly do bring people together. Lolley‘s holiday card, “Friends with a Yeti,” celebrates just that.

StudioFlowerPower‘s designer cards captured my heart the second I laid eyes on them. And that was even before I knew that each card is made with real pressed flowers and foliage. Um, Stalkers? These are nothing short of brilliant.

There’s no place like Etsy for variety and ingenuity–take for example Fabrik‘s hand-cut snowflake cards. Says the artist: “Each snowflake is hand-cut out of origami paper, so in the true spirit of snowflakes, no two are the same! . . . Envelopes are hand-folded origami-style and are translucent, so you can see the snowflakes through them.” These might just be too wonderful to give away!

Something about Oh My Cavalier‘s “Winter Rabbit Friend” makes me want snow, mittens, and bunnies. The combination of all three here makes me all kinds of happy.

Pocket Studio‘s set of typographic cutout cards are the lovely epitome of simplicity and design.

Is there anything not to love about Crafterall‘s Mod Ornaments cards? This curator doesn’t think so. Each card is hand cut from four layers of card stock, giving them “a retro flair with a sleek, modern impression, and a delightful tactile experience to boot.”

Finally, I’ll leave you with two of HMC Design‘s holiday greeting cards, because choosing one proved an impossible task. These cards give the phrase “cute as a button” new life; watch your loved ones ooh and ahh at the adorable card, and then pin the detachable badge onto their lapels. Genius!

Yours in holiday stress greetings,

Curator Beatrice

All of them are fantastic. Our loved ones are lucky to receive such amazing cards from us, aren’t they? I’m jealous.
You guys are really on a roll of pointing me towards goodies I need these days. I snatched up a few of HMC Design’s cards. How could anyone resist those big pleading eyes?!

Beautiful cards–I especially love the “Oh My Cavalier” card—it’s so wistful and whimsical.
