Violet Is Fawning

My Dear Stalkers, I stand here before you today to argue my case for the Next Big Thing. For some time now, stylized owls and birds have been the unrivaled trend on Etsy. Which begs the question: What comes next? Let’s look at the factors, shall we? If we follow the current fad, it needs to be something from nature. It needs to be appealing in stylized form. It needs to be applicable to many types of creations. From Violet’s vantage point, Stalkers, the answer is clear. I present to you now…….drum roll, please…….The Baby Deer.

Violet Is Fawning

What can you do with a Baby Deer? For starters, you can hand applique it to an Angora Infant’s Pilot Cap as Sesame Seed Designs did here.

You can stamp it onto a hanging gift tag for a super sweet accent like Swirls of Creativity did. Violet just wants to scritch that little chin.

You can take a little fawn and photograph it out in nature for a fine art photo as Jennifer Dennis Potter did. (You guys! It’s standing under a mushroom!)

Hmmm does a baby deer pass the Must Look Cute On Hair Accessories Test? Little Itty Bitty submits into evidence these fabric button ponytail holders. Cute? Guilty as charged!

Or how about as a pink, sparkly cabachon placed on a hair clip? Yes, I’d say Studio of Whimsy is definitely strengthening my case.

Here’s what I especially like about a baby deer: It’s adorably cute in a realistic color palette as in this art print entitled Woodland Wonderland. (From: Icing On The Cupcake)

But you can trick it out in all sorts of colors and patterns and by some magical process not only is the cuteness maintained, it actually increases exponentially! Well done, Cornflake Girl.

Worried that a baby deer can’t hold it’s own in a season dominated by reindeer? Lemonade Tree has been thinking ahead. Check out her words-fail-me-cute Little Deer Christmas Card.

Lest you think the baby deer will hold only a juvenile appeal, Violet leaves you with this classically elegant Circle Fawn Necklace from the fabulous shop Figs and Ginger.

I rest my case.

I think you may be starting a new trend. I love the owls and birds thing, but I am ready for the NBT (next big thing) and if there is a way to make it work in my jewelry design I am all for it! That little fawn on the red cap and the silver circle are my personal faves. Thanks for sharing V! Enjoy the day!

Great picks and I definitely think you are on to something here! The real question is, how many people will see this post and decide to include fawns in their work now!
Thanks for sharing

Love the deer! Tricked out fawn by Cornflake Girl is also my favorite, but I also really like the Christmas Card fawn! Okay, trying to figure out how to jump on the NBT and combine deer and seashells. Hmmmmmm……
