On the night of American Thanksgiving, having just stuffed myself full of the feast of all feasts, I can’t help but think about the sentiment behind the holiday. Read closely:
Combined, the sentence reads: “Stalker give thanks.” Well, Etsy, your wish is my command.
Our readers:
This website started out as a fun little lark for Violet and I to share our love of Etsy, a website we thought would earn us a few pats on our backs from our moms and a close friend or two. You can’t imagine the joy we’ve found in our growing readership. I find myself thankful every day for each and every one of you. Daily, we get correspondence from around the world, and I want to personally thank you all for making us want to keep going through your many notes of appreciation and kindness. Our readership has grown to the point where we can no longer reply to them all personally, but I sure wish we could. Please know that each is met with gratitude. We love the new shops you introduce us to, the opinions you pass along about specific exhibits, the thoughtful questions you ask. It all means so much.
Etsy sellers:
We knew we’d be highlighting amazing handmade items on the site, but what we never anticipated was the friendships we’ve built with Etsy shop owners. Both Violet and I have formed friendships with Etsy sellers who enrich our lives. I am constantly astounded by the amount of commitment, love, and dedication it takes to put yourself out there, to run your own business and show the world your creative self in the hopes they will see it’s value and appreciate your work. We see it. We appreciate it.
My partner in this endeavor, Curator Violet:
I first met Violet underneath a covered structure at a local park, at a cooperative preschool class get-together when Poppy and Clover were three years old. Clover and Poppy were both wearing dress-up ballerina type costumes instead of regular clothes, and it was clear they would be fast friends. Violet was the most sarcastic, funny, laid back mom there, and I knew instantly I had found a friend in her. Fast forward: our girls are now almost ten years old, and that mom I met at the park has become one of the most valued friends in my life.
It might be the turkey pushing its way up, but tonight my heart is full. Thank you all for being a part of our little Stalker community and our lives.
With gratitude,
Curator Beatrice
