What Are You Thankful For?

by Violet on November 18, 2009

American Thanksgiving is right around the corner. What with the hustle and bustle of traveling, cooking, and eating ourselves into food comas, it’s easy to overlook the true meaning behind the holiday.  This exhibit is dedicated to returning to the root of Thanksgiving:  The Giving of Thanks.

What Are You Thankful For?

In our family, we used to do this with a paper turkey and feathers. Sunshine by CK has updated the idea using canvas and chalkboard paint to create Hank the Thankful Turkey! What a great tradition it would be to have your family add something new each day as Thanksgiving approaches.

As a hostess gift or a Turkey Day conversation starter, you can’t go wrong with this set of 40 brown paper napkins hot stamped with cream foil. From: Letter C Design.

Violet is loving Simple Whimsey’s eco friendly banner made from autumn themed fabrics and painted with letters that spell the word “Thankful”.

This brightly colored brass and enamel napkin holder was made by the Terra Sancta Guild in 1969. Funkijunk is advertising it in her vintage shop as  Hippie Thanksgiving. Grooooovy!

When you’ve got everyone together for the holiday, be sure to have the camera handy. Then use this darling chipboard mini album to turn memories into keepsakes. Hampshire Rose has done all the hard work, you just need to add the pictures!

Look how The Silver Diva accentuated her handstamped silver disk with a brown resin leaf, a copper freshwater cultured pearl and a sparkly Swarvoski crystal charm. Violet is thankful for such pretty jewelry!

Lana Kole gets back to basics with this vinyl wall decal which–let’s face it–is appropriate all year round.

This simple cheerful message paired with modern, fall trees will put a positive spin on your day no matter how dark and dreary it may be outside. From: Turnaround Design.

Two Left Hands
has a shop full of fairies, gnomes, and other delightful creatures. How could Violet pass up her Be Thankful gnome? Hand felted, embroidered and holding two little decoupaged pumpkins, this little fellow embodies the holiday spirit.

Lastly, we have these decorative wooden blocks that Emmie Cakes offers two ways: as a completed set or as a kit for you to finish yourself.  All you’ll need is paint, sponge brushes, and mod podge and you’ve got a fun and easy project.

Bea and I are thankful for every last one of you!
