When online stalking is a good thing!

All In Stitches: Mid-Week Giveaway

by Curator Beatrice on October 13, 2009

Hello, my dear Stalkers! Do you all recall the day I saved Violet’s life by curating an exhibit featuring cowls and mini-scarves? Since that post, Violet and her daughter seem to have contracted the Swine Flu, but at least their necks are warm and toasty. I have it on good authority that Mr. Violet is feeding them soup and they have no shortage of movies on demand. Perhaps this little bit of Etsy goodness will perk them up.

*Public Service Announcement, brought to you by Etsy Stalker and All in Stitches: Neck warmers can’t keep you from getting the Swine Flu, but they’ll sure help you endure it! To that end, we’ve got a fabulous giveaway perfect for the season.

Recognize this light pink beauty? This is one of the unique textured neck warmers by All in Stitches featured in last week’s exhibit. Something about the combination of that wonderfully wild yarn and the vintage button makes me want to, well, wrap it around my neck and keep it there forever. Maybe even in July, but I can’t make any promises.

I’m equally smitten by this similar design in a different color, this one called “Seastorm.”

Another fantastic cowl in the shop is the ‘Brown Rose Tube Scarf,” an appealing choice because of it’s weight and versatility. A fabulous choice for fall, this one won’t have you overheating. And the best part? Prepare yourselves . . .

. . . remember the movie Transformers?

That’s right, folks. Same lovely garment: first a cowl, then a scarf. Talk about bang for your buck.

Or you could opt for a more traditional buttoned cowl. Of the Crimson Scarflette, the artist writes, “You can button it different ways for different looks, there are no button holes, just slip the faux leather button through the knitting wherever you like it best.”

The most generous Kate, owner of All in Stitches, has offered to give one of our readers a gift certificate good for $40 (!!!) towards anything in her shop. To enter, simply visit All in Stitches, lament how naked your neck feels, then come back here and tell us which of her pieces you’d most like to be wearing right now, and why. That’s it! One entry per person, please. The winner will be chosen at random next Wednesday, October 21. Good luck and happy Stalking!

I can’t really decide…but I think I like the Flurry (white/cream color) Scarflette the best! It’s just so…fluffy! Kind of like a marshmallow around your neck. Love it. So yeah, please enter me. :)

2 Ginny October 14, 2009 at 1:35 am

I want the Drizzle Scarflette! It’s the perfect shade & texture – reminiscent of a rainy fall day – and it’ll keep me warm and tone down the bright colors of my autumn coat. Great giveaway – hope I win!

3 MissChicago October 14, 2009 at 2:01 am

It’s a toss between Brandy and Sasha for me…. uhm…. ok, I will go with Brandy. I NEED one. :)

4 Theresa October 14, 2009 at 7:11 am

Wow, I’ve seen some lovely scarves on Etsy, but these are on a whole new level. I’d be happy to have any of them. I particularly love the delicacy of the Citrine Tube Scarf:

8 Kate (Birdcage Cards) October 14, 2009 at 7:24 am

Oouu, I love a good giveaway and this is definitely a great one! It’s always scarf weather in here Buffalo, NY. My friends and I always say all you ever need to show good style in this town is a cute winter coat and scarf ’cause that’s all anyone ever sees! Let’s see today I’m in the mood for a little Brandy to warm the blood… http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=19472865

9 Erin October 14, 2009 at 7:26 am

Put me down for the Seastorm MiniScarf. Such a great shade of blue!

10 Erin October 14, 2009 at 7:27 am

I would say either the red one featured or the Glacier Tube Scarf.

11 Stephanie October 14, 2009 at 7:27 am

Seastorm is my favorite! Perfect for Lake Michigan winters. Even though Lake Michigan is a lake, it may as well be a sea – and we certainly get plenty of storms!

12 Tiffany Battel October 14, 2009 at 7:29 am

I just really love the Crimson Scarflette.. the color is gorgeous and that style button really compliments this peace! Absolutely beautiful!!

13 Kelly October 14, 2009 at 7:45 am

The Drizzle Scarflette is gorgeous and it would go with so many coats. I have this vintage London Fog coat it’d look cute with! *Crosses fingers*

14 Vanessa October 14, 2009 at 7:49 am

Holy cowl! I love the Brown Rose Tube Scarf best. I can wear it to dress up or down. And its versatility will keep me warm in Colorado where I’m from or cozy but not too hot in Oregon where I live for now.

15 Mama_Amethyst October 14, 2009 at 8:03 am

I really like the seastorm mini-scarf. It would go well with my blue green eyes. Thanks for the great giveaway!

16 Nancy October 14, 2009 at 8:09 am

OK — I’m sending a link for your website to my family since my birthday is coming up. I am equally nuts over the neck hankies and the tube scarves and pretty much want several in multiple colors.

17 Emi October 14, 2009 at 9:02 am

I adore that cotton candy mini-scarf, that is the cutest way to keep my neck warm I have ever seen and I am a HUGE fan of cute.

18 adrienne October 14, 2009 at 9:06 am

I love the cotton candy and night sky mini scarves! I love the tattered edge look and they look so warm and snuggly! I am all about soft fuzzy things and these are so adorable!

19 Jana October 14, 2009 at 9:46 am

I love _every single one_ of the scarves & cowls, but the warmth of this one is cheering me especially today: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15947128

20 Jenny October 14, 2009 at 9:51 am

I’d have to say the Cotton Candy mini scarf. Its just so sweet and girly. I love it, and it would be perfect to cheer me up on a gloomy winter day!

21 Kim October 14, 2009 at 10:00 am

I love the cotton candy mini scarf – I love the colour, and the little button on it, and the way it is fuzzy :) And I really need one! I live in Saskatchewan!!!! Its cold here!

Those little scarflettes are too much fun! I have never heard of such a thing, but I like that it isn’t so bulky. I would take the crimson red please, or the Flurry white. I also think that Citrine Tube Scarf is so light and ethereal that I could wear it until July (of course, I do live in Wisconsin and I have seen it snow in June!)
Enjoy the day! Erin

23 lori wyant October 14, 2009 at 10:12 am

love, love, love the Cotton Candy MiniScarf! Would be perfect for the couple of days it’s cold here in San Antonio TX! : ) http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32342545

24 Beatriz October 14, 2009 at 10:51 am

I loved loved loved the Crimson Scarflette (and to a lesser degree it’s companion piece, the crimson scarf).

25 Josette October 14, 2009 at 11:12 am

I love the Seastorm MiniScarf for the following reasons:
-the color!
-I don’t own a scarflette – how cute!
-the button

Although I would not wear it right now, still too warm in Phoenix, I would wear it soon. I’ve lived here almost all my life and in my opinion, it gets very cold soon enough!!

26 Talia October 14, 2009 at 11:27 am

I love everything in this shop. I seriously cannot pick one thing. I want to own them all!

My absolute favourites, if forced to choose though, would be

- Night Sky MiniScarf
- Sasha – Soft and Cozy Cowl
and
- Moss Hankie

27 Nichole October 14, 2009 at 11:31 am

Oh, my goodness. I couldn’t decide between these two…they both speak to me in different ways. :)

Citrine Tube Scarf
Crimson Scarf

Such beautiful pieces!

28 Teresa Penrose October 14, 2009 at 11:51 am

34 Kimberly October 14, 2009 at 1:49 pm

All the mini-scarf’s are simply splendid!!! I love the way the scarflette can be worn in so many different ways. Sometimes a regular scarf is too bulky but this one just seems perfect!

35 Beth October 14, 2009 at 2:03 pm

So beautiful, but how to decide? Hmmm…. I was just thinking this morning that my gray wool coat needed a punch of colour so I would have to go with the crimson scarflette. And it can be worn so many different ways!

46 Pamela Susan October 14, 2009 at 8:43 pm
