Oh, Stalkers. There’s nothing we love more here in Stalkerdom than an unexpected offer for a giveaway of an item we love. You might remember this piece of wow from yesterday’s belt-themed exhibit:
Chris of Patriot Leather is the creative genius behind this belt that will soon find it’s way onto one of your waists. A graphic designer by trade with a passion for leather work, Chris made himself a whimsical, unique belt and then garnered the courage to wear it to work. When the comments and compliments came pouring in (not to mention three orders that day alone), Chris knew he was onto something.
He named the belt, quite aptly, “Random Blocks” because of the block-like patterns in the finished product. It is a look reminiscent of inlaid wood, finished off with a removable brass buckle.
What I find particularly admirable about the work of Patriot Leather is that it is all done by hand, without a pattern. That’s true artistry: letting a piece unfold organically while you work and watch it become what it’s meant to be. It creates a relationship between an artist and his work that shows in each unique final product.
Down to the yummy details: Chris has graciously offered one of our Stalkers a custom Random Blocks belt. I love them all!!!!!! but I think my favorite is the Rocker skull, It is not really my personal style but it shows so much talent. For me to wear the Cowgirl Chic Western Belt would be the way to go .. not to sweet but still soft… hum I wonder if it comes in black?

The knothole woodgrain belt is stunning! I immediately did a double take. It really looks like real wood. Old wood grain, especially in antique furniture is a passion of mine. I would love to sport this belt to flaunt my addition.

I can’t believe the craftmanship in those belts! My favorite by far is the Random Block Leather Belt. What I like most about it is all the different shades of brown that are used. So it wouldn’t make a difference if you were wearing a light brown or dark brown outfit, the belt would match! I love it! That’s my kind of belt!

….the belts are absolutely unique and gorgeous. I am a cowgirl and have a hand-tooled belt that I had created from a vintage 1950′s poppy pattern that can’t be found anymore (I actually had to trace the dang thing myself to get it to the artist!) so I’m pretty durn picky about belts (and yes, that one has my name on the back…i think it rawks.) The woodgrain is beautiful beautiful beautiful, but I think the uniqueness of the Random Blocks belt wins out over all the others. It would look stunning with just about anything. Wow. So, I was thinking that I didn’t even need to go to the shop because my eyes about popped out of my head for the Random Block belt yesterday. But my love of browsing Etsy for any and all reasons sent me to the shop without hesitation. Random Blocks, Knothole Woodgrain… How does one choose? For me, probably the woodgrain. For my husband, whom I’d undoubtly give this piece of art to, definitely the Random Block.
