Buried treasure: the fantasy of school-aged children and pirates alike. Curator Beatrice is a fan of buried treasure herself. I’ve been digging through the Etsy shops, finding some undiscovered gems that will, in short order, likely be Etsy stars. Each of the items featured in today’s exhibit comes from a shop that is brand new (so new, in fact, that none of the shops has yet to make their first sale). Grab a shovel and join me as we discover the next best thing.
Undiscovered
Cincy Glass is a gorgeous shop that features glass work from a number of talented artists. This particular piece truly caught my eye; it is described as “a stack of playful, yellow circles” that can “suggest movement and energy. This looks great as a stand alone sculpture, or set in front of a candle for an ambient yellow glow.”
To make the Tidewater Blue Desk, gypsyfishstudio has taken a vintage mahogany desk and painted it with blues and grays. Gypsy, I want you to know that if I hadn’t already blown through every paycheck for the next six months, I would absolutely be your first sale.
In a lovely nod to the 50′s era, Twig Cottage has fashioned the “Lemon Pokey Full Bib Apron.” I might actually try my hand at cooking if I had something this cute to put on:
Let’s fast forward a decade, shall we? I’m dying to know how BabyHaHa got her hands on these unworn 60s black Balenciaga shoes. Oh, why do my feet have to be the wrong size for these beauties?
PacificArtworks has named this garden sculpture Napolian. At 40 inches tall, this guy is made entirely from recycled steel nuts. Hurry! This shop is offering 10% off and free shipping for their first sale!
These sterling silver earrings, aptly named Parallel Lines, are gorgeous and minimalist (and would look really great hanging from Curator Beatrice’s ears). From Artulia:
Go on, Stalkers. Be the person who can say, “I found them first.” I guarantee you won’t regret it.
Until next time,
Curator Beatrice
