Some things are almost too shameful to admit. But I feel safe here and I think I can reveal my state of disgrace. Something I’ve prided myself on has been shattered and broken. <Deep Breath> Yesterday I went to the library and found I owed $14.65 in overdue fees. How did this happen? I have gone years and years without so much as one overdue book. I once loaded a feverish Poppy into the car just to return a book on time. And now, this. I’d like to blame the library system which emails me a “courtesy reminder” four days before my books are due, but then leaves me to my own devices after that. Shouldn’t they be sending me daily emails ALL IN CAPS when I have overdue books? Ok, fine, I need to take on some of the blame. Let’s do some Stalking to see if I can find a way to prevent this atrocity from happening again.
Don’t Forget!
I adore these Don’t Forget sterling silver earrings from Whimsy Wire and Wool! The only downside is that I might just forget all about the library books while I’m admiring myself in the mirror.

Here’s the perfect tote for bringing books from (and hopefully back TO) the library. Piper Bags lists the materials used as Canvas and Love.
Maybe writing myself a note would help. This Gocco print Books and Bird Card would be perfect! Nicely done, Two Guitars!
And I could stick it on my fridge with this Oh, I Forgot magnet by Art Of My Mind!
Cici Studio is devoted to keeping you organized and on track. These eye-catching, printable Don’t Forget door hangers might just do the trick.
Or this set of six sweet To Do List Tags. With the bows that Paper Eclectiques has provided, I could hang one on my doorknob. And one on my rearview mirror. And one on my purse handle. And tie one to my cell phone…
Maybe I could just surround myself with library reminders like Ephemeralogie’s funky card catalog coaster. (And if you’re too young to know what a card catalog is, I don’t want to know!)
Happy Stalking! And remembering!

naughty naughty miss Violet!
Speaking of overdue library books, my girlfriend has a big problem with this. We’re talking fines that make $14.65 look like pocket change. Maybe I’ll pick her up something from this post.
Then again, I also have a bad memory, so I’ll probably just set this task aside for later and never do it…
Oh nooooooo!
Good news is those earrings are ADORABLE!
Send you daily e-mails…in ALL CAPS!!!….heck, I need a pick up and delivery service. With my overdue fines it’s cheaper to buy the book!
Absolutely lovely website! I’m adding you right now to my reader!
1. Those earrings are adorable!
2. I remember the card catalog! I think I am just old enough to have caught the tail end of their regular use. My grade school library had one and I remember being so excited once I learned how to use it!
I love everything in this posting except for the library fines!
