When online stalking is a good thing!

Tying Up Loose Ends

by Violet on June 23, 2009

Many times, I see an item and am inspired to develop an entire exhibit around it.  I tuck the item into my favorites, then later do some Stalking to flesh out the exhibit.  More than once, though, after I publish it, I find that I’ve entirely forgotten to include the original inspiration.  Or sometimes I find a perfect item right after an exhibit has gone live and it’s too late.  This exhibit is going to remedy those wrongs and look back at some old favorites.

Tying Up Loose Ends

The entire Graduation Exhibit was inspired after I saw Jen Kiaba’s photo entitled Girl In Progress.  Beautiful and just a wee bit unsettling, it was the perfect metaphor for the transition and opportunity that a life event provides.

I wanted to use this lariat scarf by AG Mode in the Recession Fashion Exhibit, but I decided to keep it to clothing pieces instead of accessories.  How amazing would this be with a white t-shirt and jeans?

ANY item could’ve made it into Beatrice’s Mustache Exhibit with the addition of this handy-dandy stamp from xneoncanvas

This was one of the first things I  had set aside for the Stacking Rings ExhibitSoop has a whole collection of forest creature rings that you can mix and match to make different landscapes.

This next piece I thought about putting in an orange themed exhibit, but that ended up being Juicy Oranges.   Clever Girl calls it Harvest Moon and I’m transfixed by it’s hypnotic glow.

I discovered this next shop when I accidentally sent a convo to the wrong seller regarding the Summer Activities Exhibit.  He kindly corrected my mistake and suggested a few items of his own for me to check out.  I was wowed by this clever toy.   Mark  of  Wood Toy Shop explains:  “Secret Decoders come in sets of two, so you can give one to your best friend. The secret decoder disk uses a Caesar Cipher to encrypt and decrypt your secret messages. This is the same technique Julius Caesar used to send important messages to his armies.”  I’m gonna get a set so Beatrice and I each have one!

Happy Stalking!

I would have to agree that a white shirt and jeans will look good with AGMode’s Lariat.

Just when I think I have Etsy figured out, I learn something new about it. This is very interesting! Can someone explain it to me?
