Let’s say goodbye to 2012 with a collection of things that I love but haven’t managed to work into any of the regular exhibits thus far. Yes, it’s a year-end edition of Things Violet Likes!
Things Violet Likes
Zuppa Atelier specializes in hand painted porcelain tableware and decorative pieces. This one is called Night Balloon and it has an almost magical allure.
At Rough Fusion, industrial concrete is turned into elegant accessories such as candle holders, trays, and planters. But they also offer this gem, a concrete head measuring in at just over 2 inches long.
The tagline at Sleepy Robot 13 quite accurately reads, “Things U never knew you needed until today.” Here you’ll find polymer clay robots of all sorts, but my favorite is this one in happy taco heaven.
As I grew up in Western Pennsylvania, I have a soft spot for this skyline poster of Pittsburgh done in Steeler black and gold. DEP Designs has a great selection of cities as well as intriguing movie and television show fan art.
Lavender and brass make for a surprisingly lovely combination in this necklace from Pretty Pieces Jewelry. The wire working gives it lots of texture without eoverwhelming the delicate crystals.
These ceramic tea light holders look fabulous clustered together. As they’re formed after being thrown, they develop a wonderful cracked eggshell appearance. Available from K Elverum.
Finally, Lucie Veilleux hand makes these diamonds from a variety of wood. Designed for maximum impact, each one hangs on a 26 inch long chain, adorned by a single white freshwater pearl.
Happy Stalking and Happy New Year!
