Handmade Baby: Onesies

by Violet on March 1, 2012

As my children are 14 and 12, I don’t get to spend much time shopping for baby clothes. (Although I do sometimes look longingly at those little, adorable items and idly wonder if my kids would tolerate being crammed back into them.) Not that I want to go back to the days of babies, mind you, but those clothes! There is nothing in the world so cute. Luckily for me, there is a new baby on the way in my extended family, so it’s time to go shopping!

Handmade Baby: Onesies

It’s impossible to look at this onesie without belting out Beck. Little Atoms is inkin’ it old school with a large selection of hand screenprinted onesies, toddler tees, and adult t shirts.

What better way to illustrate the magical wonder and innocence of a new life than with the idea that all things are possible? 13 Days sweet embroidered onesie shows a horse doing his best to turn into a unicorn.

I like that Caustic Threads doesn’t stick to “traditional” baby colors. This onesie features an original owl illustration in chocolate brown ink on an apple green onesie.

Check out the dreamy jellyfish drifting across this onesie! CH Clothing uses eco friendly water based inks which are cured to prevent fading.

Big Bridge Studios can’t promise that this bird’s star lullaby will get your baby to sleep, but she’ll sure look adorable in the middle of the night. This onesie uses an oil print technique in which the print becomes part of the fabric, remaining soft and fluid.

How cute would this be on a photo birth announcement? PurplePossom can customize it with all the pertinent information…and she can even make Big Brother/Big Sister ones to complete the picture.

If you ask me, it’s never too early to teach your baby to love puns! This cheerful graphic comes on a variety of vibrant organic cotton onesies and shirts from beeXpression.

For possible savings on more things for the little one, baby product coupons are always available.

Happy Stalking!
