Confetti!

by Violet on January 24, 2012

I don’t know what makes confetti so appealing, but it manages to add a celebratory touch wherever you find it. Between the bright colors and the way it drifts through the air, it’s inspired a lot of artists who use a wide variety of materials.

Confetti!

Ashley Spatula calls this her Candy Disco ring. Glittery confetti glows through a glass stone that has been set into a fully adjustable band. At just $12.50, it’s an affordable way to make a statement.

I absolutely adore this necklace by Evon’s Muse. A wooden bead has been covered in hand crocheted Egyptian cotton, confettied glass lentil beads, and Delica seed beads for a fresh, festive look.

It’s a birthday in a box! And not just any box…this one has been handmade from clear glass bevels that have been wrapped in coppery foil and soldered together. Artistry Stained Glass filled the triangular shaped box with confetti and ribbon curls.

Dear Betsy used 60 origami flowers in 12 bright colors to make this Confetti Bouquet. A floral wire stem has been wrapped in pink satin ribbon so that it can be easily placed in a vase to create a party decoration that you won’t have to sweep up at the end of the night.

Textile artist Waterrose creates everything from embroidery patterns to jewelry to home decor. This hand embroidered wool, felt, cotton, and thread ring is both cheerful and unexpected.

Dichroic chips of confetti fused glass shimmer and shine on a base of clear cathedral glass. It’s one of a huge selection of colorful creations from Hayden Brook Studios (who is having a sale on dichroic glass fused jewelry this week!).

Inspired by Latin American tradition of the Cascarones – a confetti filled eggshell cracked over ones head to bring good luck and cheer–Jokey Yokey has developed an entirely biodegradable option. They’re made from real egg shells that have been filled with confetti, tissue paper and glitter.

Happy Stalking!
