Make A Wish!

by Violet on April 12, 2011

If you have a special wish that you want to come true, sometimes it takes a little help. Sure, hard work and planning are part of it, but if you need to nudge things along in the right direction, you can’t go wrong with adding in a little bit of ritual. Today’s exhibit provides you with all sorts of ways to Make A Wish.

Make A Wish!

Blowing on a dandelion gone to seed absolutely requires that you make a wish. (And if your wish is for more dandelions to grow in your neighbor’s yard, congrats!) On Solid Ground created this Make A Wish pendant out of oxidized copper. The image of the dandelion is delightfully gentle against the rich metal.

I’m absolutely charmed by this Make A Wish birch log art! A dandelion has been painted with pearlized, textured paint on a reclaimed birch slice, then sealed with a durable finish. Available from Sarah Smile Design.

Just because Thanksgiving is months away doesn’t mean you can’t have the luck of the wishbone. Sora Designs offers it in two different sizes and three finishes: 24kt gold vermeil, oxidized sterling silver and sterling silver.

Call upon a genie for a little extra help with this magic lamp wax seal pendant. Sue Gray Jewelry made it by hand stamping an antique french etui seal into fine silver.

Best part about your birthday? Um, cake, actually. Second best? Getting to make a wish as you blow out those candles! Loving the rich colors and swirling graphics of Made By Steph’s birthday card.

Don’t underestimate the power of wishing upon a star. Organic Rust Creation soldered a copper star onto a hand hammered and stamped sterling silver disc. The wire wrapped clear bead adds a bit of shine to the necklace.

Finally, if all else fails, you could try Marmar’s idea. This reversible enamel and sterling silver pendant features a bat on one side and a shooting star on the other. It’s called, of course, Make A Wish Upon A Bat.

Happy Stalking…and may all your wishes come true!
